2015: The Grounding of the Tuhoe

September 27, 2015: The Grounding of the Tuhoe. This was the historic ship that served Kaiapoi- 26 April 1962 – 28 September 2015. There is a new local film in development and the makers sound like they have a healthy anarchist mistrust for the orthodoxy…

“When they said it was a wave … we knew, it was no wave. They drove right up onto the bar.”

I’m of the same opinion. It’s far from unusual for obstacles in the government’s way to suffer accidents when due process is lengthy and complicated. As I pointed out earlier in the year, Kaiapoi’s river development plans pre-date the destruction of the ship and have *no place* to moor Tuhoe.
