2017: Man arrested after spraying shoppers with wine in Timaru on New Year’s Eve

December 31, 2018

New Years Day is used as an excuse to steal! Consider two cases: Stealing money and giving it ‘back’ to the people for fireworks vs giving it ‘back’ as free wine in the face!

To my Anarchist History mindset these two stories are essentially the same.

“A 20-year-old man from Uruguay was arrested at 5pm on Saturday after he walked into the supermarket, opened a bottle of wine, and sprayed customers- yelling “happy New Year’s” as he did so.”- Man arrested after spraying shoppers with wine in Timaru on New Year’s Eve, Stuff

What happened in Timaru in 2017 with the wine is the same as will happen tonight, for example, in Sydney with those taxpayer funded fireworks over the Harbour Bridge.

Takes a special sort of Double Think to think there is a difference. Would you like someone coming into your street, socialising your Christmas presents and food and drink in a give away to all and sundry against your will saying ‘Happy new year!!’ That’s The State.
