When natural or man-made disaster occurs somewhere on the planet we often hear that the Government of the day is sending (on our behalf with our money) ‘help’ in the form of foreign aid. Where does the money go? Generally we never find that out and have lost interest and moved on when it’s time to ask. Or, there will be some minor headline pointing out that the money is unaccounted for. But who gets the cash?
The Government is ‘sending’ this money to its own sweetheart contractors who are simply located in other countries. Infrastructure and aid money sent to the Pacific Islands from New Zealand is simply going to NZ companies who, of course, put up some pretense of doing something over there. The media doesn’t go see what that might be but will loudly proclaim the large monetary figure we are “contributing” to the “needy.” We just leave it at that.
Would not be surprised if the Prime Minister has a friend or family member on location facilitating this activity.
The same principle applies domestically. For example, what ever happened to the money for the Labour 6.0 Provincial Growth Fund? Or all that money for mental health? The Kiwi voter’s amnesia has been capitalised by politicians into a money-making machine for their pals.

I have always objected to those who want my money to give away to other people. On a Govt level it’s even worse as we have no way to say “no thanks” and the Moderators are toothless or unwilling to carry out their duties.
It’s a scam.
