1890: One Man, One Vote

January 19, 2019

By AHNZ

The Liberals: A horrible bunch of wreckers leading New Zealand into Victimhood Culture. Once upon a time political power over the nation was only small and the only ones who could vote *had* to own the property which was being presided over.

After the electoral system was changed to ‘one man, one vote’ anybody could vote himself free stuff. With an incentive like this, he soon was, and it has been a disaster. Wasn’t long before women got in on it too and Big Government loosed its parasitical fangs. The many could vote to burden a minority.

“I assume that some of these people lent their names to streets we see today. Buckley Road, Ballance St, etc.”- Commenter

Hah, “lent” is not the word! They went around like King Minus touching everything and getting their dirty names all over everything!

One Man, One Vote, introduced 1889

First applied in election 1890. In which, The Liberals stormed into power to great detriment to us all for many years to come
